"We all had a fantastic weekend at the Palace, thank you so much.. The flat is enormous - so elegant, full of history and generally just absolutely awesome. The fact it’s actually part of a Palace just tops it off. And to think we could walk out of the building to be welcomed by Peacocks, and walk 50 yards to the church where Kings of Scotland were crowned 1000 years ago, (and also meeting Brian from the Beechgrove Garden!) makes it all the more mind blowing! I doubt any of us will ever stay in a place like it again - well apart from next year’s stay which we decided to book within minutes of arriving! Stephen replied promptly and very politely the few times we got in touch with him. We would have given at least 6 stars out of 5 if we could!"
''It was an amazing stay, the property is beautiful. Also included was a private tour of the palace by Stephen and it was great. I can’t put in to words how wonderful the whole experience was.''
''We had the privilege of staying in the Balvaird wing at Scone Palace for 3 nights to celebrate a 50th birthday. What a magical place indeed! The location is stunning and the apartment which is situated in an upper wing of the Palace is both luxurious and homely at the same time. There are 3 beautiful double bedrooms all en suite with a very well equipped kitchen with everything to hand and a spacious comfortable living area. The master bedroom has a fabulous canopy over the bed and an original 19th century roll top bath. There are some lovely pieces of period furniture within the apartment. The photos do not do the apartment justice and it has commanding views over the parklands and countryside with the trees looking stunning in the autumn weather.
We had a breakfast pack delivered on two mornings and the quality of the locally sourced ingredients was superb.
So the palace and grounds with all the accompanying history is magnificent and we were but a short stroll from Moot Hill where ancient Kings of Scotland were crowned. We were fortunate that our visit coincided with the Spirits of Scone Halloween event which is definitely to be recommended and is fantastically organised for those of a robust disposition!!! The crowning glory of the Palace however has to be its staff!!! Nothing was too much trouble and they went our of their way at every step to make our stay extra special, anticipating our needs before we even knew what they were. Stephen is the Head of Scone Palace and everyone should have a Stephen in their life! He was ably assisted by professional and knowledgeable long serving staff and special thanks to Pat, Becky our guide for our private palace tour, Kate the wonderful chef and to Graeme our gatekeeper.
Without hesitation this is indeed a five star location fit for Kings, Queens and our good selves for the last few days. We have had a ball and cannot recommend Scone highly enough. It is so wonderful we would love to keep it a secret!''
''The entire apartment is magnificent, we were all hugely impressed. It felt very special indeed to be staying there. The accommodation exceeded expectations in every way, and little touches like the complimentary welcome pack and complimentary tour made our stay even more special. Attention to detail, and immaculate presentation throughout the entire apartment. We hugely enjoyed the beautiful grounds, especially after visiting hours. It felt like being a part of history to stay there, and a truly memorable trip. We were sorry to leave.
We would heartily recommend a visit to the Balvaird without hesitation and we will definitely be back. Thank you to you, Stephen for being so professional, friendly and helpful.
The entire stay, from the apartment, the grounds, the staff, the attention-to-detail - truly majestic. It was an exceptional and unique experience.''
''We had such a wonderful time whilst staying in the Balvaird Wing. The bedrooms were extremely comfortable and luxuriously appointed with every practical need having been thought about. It was marvellous to have a large and well equipped kitchen and comfortable sitting room to make us feel as if we were properly at home. In addition, the breakfast and suppers supplied straight to our fridge meant that we had to think about absolutely nothing except how to best enjoy ourselves during the day. Most definitely a very luxurious home from home experience. Thank you so much.''
''Such a unique Airbnb, and what a location. The bedrooms were huge and spotless. And a huge bonus to have access to the Palace’s beautiful grounds. Stephen was excellent to communicate with and checked in regularly with us throughout our stay. Will definitely return!''
''We all had an amazing stay, the Balvaird wing is absolutely amazing and has everything we needed to make our get together really special after 18 months of lockdown for us all. Accommodation is first class and you all made us feel welcome with the genourous welcome pack. Private garden and tour of the palace was fantastic, we even made friends with the chilled out peacocks, we named one Percy as he came everyday when we sat in the garden ( the blue one). We did have Alexander and another visit too. The friendliness of numerous staff was outstanding, true genuineness and professionalism. A truly wonderful experience. Thankyou so much. We'll be back!''
''It is, without doubt, one of the most perfect and fabulous weekends away we have ever had and we have all said, an experience we hope to repeat at some point in the future. I was there with my two grown up children and both their partners and time for us to be in the one place is so rare and precious, but it was made even more special by the fact that we were in such a wonderful setting. Everyone we came into contact helped too with kindness and great care from the guide who took us through the palace, the lady who welcomed us on Saturday, the staff in your gift shop to the folk who welcomed us at the barrier and let us out and back in again a few times. The flat was also beautifully prepared for us when we arrived. If you are able, please pass on our thanks.''
''We had an extremely comfortable and pleasant stay at the Balvaird Apartment which is spacious, luxuriously furnished with a lot of thought having been put in to the decor and artwork on display. The views of the Palace grounds and surrounding area are stunning. The accommodation was a really peaceful haven for my family and I to come back to at the end of a busy day.''
''The Balvaird apartment was the perfect location for our 'boys' golfing break and only a short taxi ride into the centre of Perth, where we were spoiled for choice when it came to eating out''
"This experience far exceeded our expectations. From the moment we arrived outside this grand Palace, until we, sadly, had to leave, we experienced outstanding facilities and hospitality from Stephen and his team. Although it must be said we had the run of the place, especially those hours the Palace is closed to the public, and rarely came across anyone. The three bedrooms are HUGE, and each with its’ own en suite, made for a very spacious feeling, in that the 6 of us weren’t living on top of each other, but met in the well-appointed kitchen, or in the tastefully decorated sitting room. I'm generally a fan of staying in old buildings, but this wing had been recently redecorated, and, whilst still retaining the OLD look, was very new. It's only 5 minutes out of Perth, so if you wanted to nip out for dinner (after drinks on your private lawn) it's a short trip. Each of us came away having experienced something very special and memorable."
