Old Servants’ Hall Coffee Shop
The Old Servants' Hall is now a comfortable coffee shop. It is the perfect stop after a brisk walk around the Palace grounds.
It serves delicious home baking and tasty savoury snacks throughout the day, including a range of sandwiches freshly prepared on the premises each day.
We grow our own produce in the Walled Garden, so there is an especially short supply route for the ingredients on our rotating seasonal menus. Look out for featured produce for a hyper-local treat.
Horsebox
What started as a way for Scone to offer outdoor dining through the past couple of years has now become a local favourite.
We converted a horsebox to become a stylish outdoor cafe that serves coffee, cakes, and scones, as well as the full menu from our Old Servants' Hall Coffee Shop.
Look out for the striking cobalt blue as you stroll through the Scone grounds and join us for outdoor events. Our team will be there to keep you well-caffeinated and well-fed with local produce.
Kitchen Garden
In the Kitchen Garden, herbs are planted for their colour and scent as companions to the vegetables, which we use year round to fill the Palace Coffee Shop menu with locally-grown items.
Our Head Gardener, Brian Cunningham, and an amazing local team of 20 volunteer gardeners maintain the Kitchen Garden throughout the year, making our homegrown menus possible.
The Old Kitchen
Our Old Kitchen Restaurant is available for pre-booked private dining and events. Groups (min of 12) can also pre-book a table for lunch, coffee or high tea.
The charming, original Victorian range and copper cookware provide a special atmosphere for any dining event you have in mind. In 1802, when William Atkinson was commissioned to remodel the Palace, he completely forgot to include a kitchen. To save his embarrassment, he quickly placed this kitchen into one of the Palace's inner courtyards.
We proudly display the original copper pots and pans, which are traditionally called "batterie de cuisine," or the kitchen artillery.
We are dog friendly and your family pet is welcome in our Old Kitchen while you enjoy your refreshments.
