On the eve of the historic anniversary of the Battle of Bannockburn, Scone Palace will be presenting a unique and historical event which should appeal to both young and old. King Robert the Bruce and his squire, in the company of some of his brave warriors, will be staging a living history presentation day in the grounds of the Palace on 22nd June.
Visitors will have an opportunity to hear the story of Vruce's greatest victory and learn about the weapons and tactics used by the Scots at the famous battle. In addition to this, visitors will have a chance to feel the weight of the weapons and equipment used by the soldiers of the period.
The performers will also be looking for young recruits to train in the skill of the Schiltron regiment. Youngsters will be able to dress up as Bruce's foot soldiers and practice the battle tactics of the day.
The event is running throughout the day from 12.00 noon until 3.30pm with the performances at 12.00 noon, 1.00pm, 2.00pm and 3.00pm. Each presentation lasting around 20-30 minutes. In between the shows, the public will have the chance to chat to the performers as well as have photo opportunities.
