Hubble, bubble, toil and trouble....Scone Palace gets set to cast a spooky spell this Hallowe'en

14 October 2014

Budding young Harry Potters and Merlins are being urged to dress up and come along to join in the mischief at Scone Palace’s ‘Spooky Hallowe’en Weekend’, on the 25th and 26th October. Prizes will be on offer for the best dressed witches and wizards throughout the weekend.

In the creepy ‘Witches Covern’, trouble will no doubt be brewing as the wizened old hags have misplaced their spooky spell book. Come along and see if you can help them write some new spells. You’ll need to be quick, though, if you don’t want to be turned into a bat or a frog!

Having escaped the evil clutches of the witches, see if you’re brave enough to enter the dark depths of the Murray Star Maze. Full of creepy crawlies and spiders webs, it won’t be somewhere to linger, so better make sure you don’t get lost!

Horrible History Tours will be offering spooky tours of the Palace grounds throughout the weekend, and The Alba Puppet Crew will be brewing up their own special brand of Halloween magic and mayhem, with shows at 12.00 noon, 1.00pm, 2.00pm and 3.00pm on both days.

To add to the fun there’ll be scary face painting, ghostly glitter tattoos, Halloween pottery painting with ‘For Arts Sake’ of Scone, apple dookin’ and outdoor games!

To ward off the autumn chill, the Old Servants Hall Coffee Shop will be serving up a selection of ‘spooky’ treats and delicious warming snacks.

Scone Palace Events Manager Heather McArthur said: “We’re thoroughly looking forward to welcoming everybody back to the Palace for another magical weekend of Hallowe’en capers, at this the scariest time of the year”.

Adults £6.30, Children £4.40 and Families £20.00. Children under 4 go free. An additional charge will apply for some activities.
