Scone Palace has announced a series of festive events taking place this December designed to delight local visitors. From wreath-making workshops to a jolly festive brunch with Santa, and the return of their popular Christmas Market Weekend, every weekend in December is packed full of festive fun at the Palace.

The stately home has been decked to the hilt with festive decorations that would rival any Downton Abbey Christmas special. Visitors will get a unique glimpse into this magical world with their very popular Candlelit and Twilight tours which will show off Scone Palace’s grand state rooms, adorned with opulent decorations, and no less than eleven individually decorated magnificent Christmas trees.

With the choice of almost 60 separate Palace chimneys to slide down on his big night, Santa will be making an early visit to Scone Palace on the 11th and 12th of December, to make sure he knows exactly which ones to use on Christmas Eve. While there he’ll enjoy a festive brunch and meet local children to exchange gifts.

On 18th & 19th December, visitors will also be able to enjoy the extensive grounds of Scone Palace as it hosts a special dedicated Christmas market featuring over 40 local producers and craft stalls, perfect for those last-minute gifts. Entertainment on the day will include The McAndrews Sisters, a Perth-based vocal trio, who will perform Christmas carols, stilt walkers and a walk-about panto. The Palace Coffee Shop will be open for visitors to enjoy a hot drink and a home-baked festive treat.

Heather McArthur, Head of Events at Scone Palace, said:

“Scone Palace looks spectacular when all the Christmas decorations are in place and and we’ve got an amazing series of events lined up that will get everyone in the festive mood. Santa’s Festive Brunch is a lovely way to meet Santa in the historical old kitchen, while our Christmas Market Weekend is the perfect way to beat the winter blues and enjoy some fresh air, mulled wine and a spot of Christmas shopping. For a real insight into a stately home Christmas, our candlelit tours are a must. We hope people will come along and enjoy the festivities with us.”
