Scottish Tree Festival - Garden Tour

7 October 2018 - 11:00 to 13:00

THIS EVENT IS NOW SOLD OUT

To celebrate the Scottish Tree Festival, we invite you to join us for an exclusive tour of our tree collection at 11.00 am on Sunday 7th October.

Our head gardener Brian Cunningham will focus on the heritage of our tree collection including the Douglas Fir and David Douglas’ connection to Scone Palace, the Victorian Pinetum containing many exotic conifers and the design layout of the gardens. Along the way, he will point out the many trees which have been planted by royalty and visiting dignitaries over the years.  The tour will also include the new development within the walled garden where our gardeners have been busy planting an orchard which includes training, shaping and pruning the fruit trees and creating an ornamental hedge which appears to grow on stilts.

Last but by no means least is the magnificent Murray Star Maze which was created by renowned designer, Adrian Fisher with its 1000 beech and 1000 copper beech trees making up one of the UK’s most challenging mazes.

There will be plenty of opportunities to ask Brian about your gardening related questions.

Tickets are priced at £11.00 per person however, places are limited.

Please gather at the assembly point to the right of the front door at 10.50 to enable the tour to start promptly.
